Dale’s Harley-Davidson

   April 7th, 2008

First I’d like to say that Tommy was prepared for his fight, but it was just a bad match-up to be honest. I had nothing to do with putting the fight together, but after I saw the weigh-in and more of Johnson’s credentials, I knew that it was a bad match up for Tommy. So, bad match-up = a bad night. The rest of the night kind of went like I thought it would. The one thing I didn’t think would happen was Houston getting knocked out with one punch. Karo has been running his mouth about me for a long time, so it didn’t bother me seeing him getting knocked out the way he did. It was good to see DW and some of the other guys at the UFC, I haven’t been to a show for a little while so it was good to socialize a little bit.

Last Saturday, I went down to Dale’s Harley-Davidson and had a great time. When Dale’s-HD and I got together I didn’t know much about them, so I asked a few guys in my area about them and they all said they take their bikes down there for services. After I heard that, I knew Dale’s would be the right choice. Was really surprised with the huge turnout I was scheduled to sign for two hours and ended up being there for close to three. The good people down there, Matt (the owner) and I get along great. So hope you enjoy the pictures and I hope no one’s mad about the April Fool’s joke, it was all in good fun, just having a good time; but I still hear about how some people really bought into it and were fully supporting me, so thanks for that. -matt

My friend and I rode 230 miles round trip to visit Dales and meet Matt Hughes. Dales certainly knows how to host an event, and Matt Hughes was unbelievably down to earth. It was pleasure to meet you Matt. Thanks for the autograph. I know it was a long day for you, since you were there before we arrived, and you were still at it when we left at 6:00. I realized after I left, I don’t even think any of us offered to get you a soda or drink of water. Thanks again; your hospitality was above and beyond our expectations!

Hey Matt,
I am glad you had fun this last weekend I wish I was there. But I wanted to ask your opinion about how you personally feel about going against the Spider, or Liddell? I only ask this questions since I was one of the dumbasses that bought into the idea of you moving in weight class. Again…I am a real big fan..and I hope you kick Serras butt when you fight him.

This was my first good, free day for a nice ride, so I rode up from Arkansas on my Road King Classic (390 miles round trip). I agree with IndianaR6girl! Matt was friendly and down to earth, and meeting him was worth the trip!

I sent my condolences to Tommy Speer on his loss. As I said in my Predictions I didnt think it would be a problem, but I did note Johnson as being an upset causer on the feet. He’s done it before. His attitude stinks, and believe me he’ll end up just like Karo Parisyan. I wasnt sad either about what happened to him LOL

I’m glad to hear you had a good time at DHD. I’m not mad about the Aprils Fools…I just cant believe I always end up falling for things like that LMAO…did you know Gullible is not in the English Dictionary??? hahahahahahaaha I Kid, I kid….or do I :D

i was akso sad to see tommy get beat the way he did, and karo is such a smart a** i was also glad to see him get beat.
i fell like the time he came to the tuf show and helped with his cousin manny, as soon as he started with nate diaz. he should have been made to leave. when karo said d they as jn the thefighters at tuf didn’t even know him and he could do such to them, well i know him, he is the guy that didn’t have enough room in his mouth for all his teeth and diego ssnchez’s knee so diego knocked one of his teeth out, so funny.
i’m also glad you had a good weekend, you should do it more often.

Just wanted to let Matt know that he made my girls’ day. We went to Mt. Vernon last weekend with the intention of meeting him, but when I saw the line snaked around the building I suggested we go on home and enjoy the great weather. They both insisted that we stop-so we did.

Matt signed one of my MMA magazines for them. We framed it and hung it on the wall of their “club” (aka- my garage). Thanks again for taking time out of your life to bring a little happiness to so many.

Hey matt hopefully you can answer my question in your next blog. I cant get an answer from Tim sylvia and i know you keep in touch with him. Is he leaving the ufc?

george fagan Says:

PrincessofPain Says:

I think it is great that you spend so much time with your fans. You are an awesome fighter! Thank you so much for coming to Mount Vernon!

Any chance of coming to Carbondale on April 26th to the Battle at the Blast? The radio keeps advertising that fighters trained by Matt Hughes and the HIT Squad will be fighting. Looks like Kyle Watson but I don’t see anyone else with the HIT logo.
