Accidental sure, but the number of simple gun-related deaths out-does anything that happens on an operating table. It would be like a doctor saying "Well, the number of deaths from knee surgery is much lower than deaths from hunting accidents." C'mon, fellas, you're all smarter than this. Hug your gun. Love your gun. But, don't fall for this. Let's take all the guns off the streets and take all the doctors off the streets and see which one you want back first. I used to work with a lawyer for the States Attorney General's office (he and I were the only outspoken gun owners in the building I think). His comment at the time (remember this was in 1991) use to be "Can anyone tell me the weapon used in the biggest mass murder in US History?" It was of course a 5 gallon Jerry can of gasoline (google "The Happyland Social Club NYC"). "So I guess what we really need to do is outlaw 5 gallon gasoline cans. Right?" So true.
