HIT Squad Warm-Up

   March 10th, 2008

The gym’s been doing great, we’re going to show a video of one of the ways that we warm up before we do a practice. As you can see things get a little intense, but hey look what we do.

Things also got a little competitive on the farm Sunday afternoon. We did some shooting and the loser had to buy dinner. Mark, long-time friend John Snoddy, my father in law Jim, my gun expert Dwayne Weller, late addition Jim May, and myself all shot at 100 yards. Of course, the real person I was competing with was my brother as they say a picture is worth a thousand words:

My shot:

Mark’s shot:

If you want to hear Mark’s side of the shooting story, go to Mark’s website. :)

With the pictures, the video and my little attachment here, I know it’s a lengthy blog, but this is what happened this week.

STONE

TWO FRIENDS WERE WALKING
THROUGH THE DESERT.
DURING SOME POINT OF THE
JOURNEY, THEY HAD AN
ARGUMENT; AND ONE FRIEND
SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE
IN THE FACE

THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED
WAS HURT, BUT WITHOUT
SAYING ANYTHING,
WROTE IN THE SAND,

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND
SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.

THEY KEPT ON WALKING,
UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS,
WHERE THEY DECIDED
TO TAKE A BATH .

THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN
SLAPPED GOT STUCK IN THE
MIRE AND STARTED DROWNING,
BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM.

AFTER HE RECOVERED FROM
THE NEAR DROWNING,
HE WROTE ON A STONE:

“TODAY MY BEST FRIEND
SAVED MY LIFE”

THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED
AND SAVED HIS BEST FRIEND
ASKED HIM, “AFTER I HURT YOU,
YOU WROTE IN THE SAND AND NOW,
YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?”

THE FRIEND REPLIED
“WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US
WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN
IN SAND, WHERE WINDS OF
FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT AWAY.

BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES
SOMETHING GOOD FOR US,
WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE
WHERE NO WIND
CAN EVER ERASE IT”

LEARN TO WRITE
YOUR HURTS IN
THE SAND AND TO
CARVE YOUR
BENEFITS IN STONE.

One last photo, this is Hanna telling me what to say in the blog:

I love to hear about Matt and Mark’s Adventures. Could you please post a link to Mark’s website?

[Mark doesn't have a website, that was just a part of the joke. :) -NateR]

Matt,

Glad to see that sibling rivalry has not died in the Hughes family. The video blows my mind and I would hate to be the person that is holding the camera. That is dangerous duty!!
On a different note, Hanna is a beautiful little girl, keep the guns you are going to need them when she is older.

You, Mark, Big D in competition with live ammo— I’m not sure that’s a good idea. I know that Big D had a tough week so it was good to see that he got out and blew off some steam with you guys. I wanted to know if you had the pic with Jim watching you and Mark shoot and the 2 CHEVYS behind him put in just for me this week? : ) LOL
We haven’t been to see the gym yet but want to get down that way soon, it looks great. I don’t know why anyone would expect anything other than first class in somethng that you guys are involved in. CONGRATS!!!!
Wow, Hanna is cute and getting big. Trust me when I say that your little girl will grow way to quickly, hold her every chance that you get. Joey too.

Matt,
That is so great that you and your brother still remain close. Hanna is absolutely adorable and growing fast. God has truly blessed you!! I hope you come out with another book in the near future. I enjoyed the first one so much (got so into it, I finished it on day 3). Take care and God Bless!

I love the warm up we do the same thing in wrestling but we can’t be on our feet we have to stay on our knees and it gets quite rough especially with guys that are some over 220lbs

PrincessofPain Says:

I love the whole tackle football with the weighed ball! Awesome~

Kelligh Says:

Hey Matt,
That is really intense!!! If that is just a warm up I can’t imagine how hard you guys train. Kepp everything up and GOD BLESS!!
